Job description

We are looking for an experienced Chiller Technician (HVAC) to install, operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair chiller systems and HVAC equipment. The technician will be responsible for ensuring efficient and reliable cooling system operation while following safety and maintenance standards.

Responsibilities

  • Operate, inspect, maintain, and repair chillers and HVAC equipment.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance according to maintenance schedules.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration faults.
  • Check refrigerant pressure, temperature, oil levels, and system performance.
  • Identify and repair refrigerant leaks and other system defects.
  • Maintain and service compressors, condensers, evaporators, pumps, cooling towers, AHUs, and FCUs.
  • Check electrical panels, motors, contactors, sensors, thermostats, and control systems.
  • Carry out refrigerant charging, recovery, and evacuation as required.
  • Monitor chiller performance and ensure optimum cooling efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, maintenance, repairs, and spare parts used.
  • Coordinate with supervisors and other maintenance teams to resolve technical issues.
  • Follow company HSE procedures, permit-to-work requirements, and safety standards.
  • Respond promptly to emergency breakdowns and minimize equipment downtime.
  • Keep tools, equipment, and work areas clean and safe.

Requirements

  • ITI / Diploma in HVAC, Refrigeration & Air Conditioning or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2–5 years of experience as a Chiller/HVAC Technician.
  • Strong hands-on experience with chillers, AHUs, FCUs, pumps, cooling towers, and HVAC systems.
  • Experience with troubleshooting and preventive maintenance of chiller systems.
  • Knowledge of refrigeration systems, compressors, condensers, evaporators, and expansion valves.
  • Ability to read HVAC drawings, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
  • Knowledge of electrical controls and basic HVAC automation is an advantage.
  • Good understanding of HVAC safety procedures and safe handling of refrigerants.
  • GCC experience is preferred.
  • Physically fit and able to work in challenging site conditions.
