Job description
A Diesel Generator Technician is responsible for the installation, operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of diesel generator sets and associated electrical/mechanical systems. The technician ensures generators operate safely, efficiently, and reliably to support continuous power requirements.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on diesel generators.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and control system faults.
- Conduct routine inspections, testing, and servicing of generator equipment.
- Install, commission, and troubleshoot generator sets and related accessories.
- Monitor generator performance and maintain maintenance records.
- Replace defective components such as filters, belts, batteries, sensors, and control modules.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company procedures.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a safe and clean condition.
Requirements
- ITI/Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or related technical field preferred.
- Minimum 5–8 years of experience in diesel generator maintenance and repair.
