Job description
The Electrical Engineer is responsible for designing, planning, supervising, testing, and maintaining electrical systems and equipment for industrial, commercial, or infrastructure projects. The role involves ensuring compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and regulatory requirements while delivering projects on time and within budget.
Responsibilities
- Design, review, and approve electrical system layouts, drawings, and specifications.
- Supervise installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of electrical equipment.
- Monitor project progress and ensure compliance with technical standards and safety regulations.
- Coordinate with project managers, contractors, consultants, and clients.
- Prepare technical reports, cost estimates, and project documentation.
- Conduct inspections and troubleshoot electrical system issues.
- Ensure efficient utilization of resources and adherence to project schedules.
- Review electrical load calculations, power distribution systems, and protection schemes.
- Support procurement activities by evaluating technical specifications and vendor proposals.
- Implement preventive maintenance programs and continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- 8–10 years of relevant experience in industrial, construction, oil & gas, utilities, or infrastructure projects.
- Strong knowledge of electrical design, installation, testing, and commissioning.
- Experience with power distribution systems, transformers, switchgear, motors, and control systems.
- Familiarity with international electrical codes and standards (IEC, NEC, IEEE, etc.).
- Proficiency in engineering software such as AutoCAD, ETAP, EPLAN, or equivalent.
- Excellent problem-solving and project coordination skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure.
- Good communication and technical reporting abilities.
