Job description
The Shuttering Carpenter is responsible for constructing, assembling, installing, and dismantling form work (shuttering) used in concrete construction projects. The role involves interpreting construction drawings, measuring and cutting materials, erecting form work structures, and ensuring that all work is completed safely and accurately to meet project specifications and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Construct, install, and dismantle shuttering and form work for concrete structures.
- Read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and project specifications.
- Measure, cut, shape, and assemble wood, plywood, steel, and other form work materials.
- Ensure form work is properly aligned, leveled, and secured before concrete pouring.
- Follow safety procedures and site regulations at all times.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in good condition.
Requirements
- Minimum Secondary School Certificate (10th Pass or equivalent).
- 2–3 years of experience as a Shuttering Carpenter in construction projects.
- Good knowledge of form work systems, shuttering techniques, and carpentry tools.
- Experience working on residential, commercial, industrial, or infrastructure projects.
- Ability to read and understand construction drawings and measurements.
